This element is the force of nature in the body which determines nerve impulses, blood circulation, respiratory functions and waste elimination. It is the prakriti to control various movements of the body both physical and mental including breathing, heartbeats, muscles movement etc.

This prakirti is the fire element of the body. It is the force associated with body temperature and also the primary reason for any biological change in the body. Major functions of pitta are bowel movements and digestion of the body.
