Charaka Jayanti Celebrated with Grandeur at Coer Medical College of Ayurveda and Hospital The Coer Medical College of Ayurveda and Hospital came alive with festivities as it celebrated Charaka Jayanti on August 21, 2023. The event marked the birth anniversary of the legendary sage Charaka, who is considered one of the founding fathers of Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine. The celebration was graced by the presence of two distinguished guests, renowned figures in the field of Ayurveda, Dr. V K Agnihotri and Dr. Aalok Sharma. Both guests were welcomed with traditional garlands and a warm reception by the college administration. The event commenced with a solemn prayer ceremony offered to Lord Charaka, seeking blessings for the advancement and well-being of the medical fraternity. The lighting of the ceremonial lamp was followed by inspiring speeches from the esteemed chief guests. FREE MEDICAL CAMP FOR KAWAR YATRI The Kanwar Yatra, observed during the month of Sawan, is a significant religious pilgrimage in India where devotees (known as Kawariye) travel to holy places to collect water from sacred rivers. The journey involves arduous trekking, often on foot, carrying decorated water pots. Due to the massive congregation of Kawariye during this period, the risk of accidents, illnesses, and health-related challenges significantly increases. A Free medical camp was organized by COER Hospital FROM 04TH JULY 2023 TO 15 TH JULY 2023, for kawariye. A team of experienced doctors, nurses, and medical staff were involved in running the camp efficiently. Approximately 14,0000 kawariye were in the camp. Celebration of the 9th International Yoga Day at Coer Medical College of Ayurveda and Hospital The Celebration of 9th International Yoga Day celebration held at COER Medical College of Ayurveda and Hospital. The event took place on 21st June 2023, with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff members. The event coordinators for this celebration were Dr. Mudit Chauhan, Assistant Professor of the Swasthavritta Eva Yoga Department, and Dr. Rajesh Vairagi, Yoga Instructor. Their dedication and efforts were instrumental in organizing a memorable and impactful event for all participants. The yoga sessions were conducted by a team of highly skilled and experienced instructors, including Mr. Utpal Shukla Ji, an esteemed yoga practitioner from Patanjali Yogpeeth. Mr. Utpal Shukla Ji brought his extensive knowledge and expertise to the event, guiding participants through various yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation techniques. In addition to Mr. Utpal Shukla Ji, three other yoga instructors from Uttarakhand Sanskrit University were present at the event. Successful Awareness Camp on "Nasha Mukta Uttarakhand evam Drug Free Devbhoomi Abhiyan A highly successful awareness camp was organized by the COER Medical College of Ayurveda and Hospital. The event, centered around the theme of “Nasha Mukta Uttarakhand evam Drug Free Devbhoomi Abhiyan,” took place on 16th June 2023 in the serene village of Maccharhedi. Distinguished healthcare professionals, Dr. Nikita Nigal, Dr. Himani Bisht, Dr. Gajendra, and Mr. Uday Pal Ji, graced the event with their presence and expertise. GUEST LECTURE ON "CHILD IMMUNITY" COER Medical College of Ayurveda and Hospital organised a guest lecture on ” CHILD IMMUNITY” on 21st February 2023. Dr Rajat Goyal, MBBS, MD was the guest speaker for this session. He elaborated different types of immunity , different immunisation schedules followed in India, their merits and demerits and its importance. BAMS students of CMCAH, Nursing and Paramedical students of CCNPS, all the faculty members attended this lecture. EDUCATIONAL TOUR TO KUSTHA ASHRAMS IN CHANDI GHAT On 30th Januaryy 2023, to increase the public awareness of leprosy and increase the knowledge and understanding about this disease, BAMS students took an educational tour to three kushta ashrams in haridwar namely chidanand kustha ashram, shri mahant dayalpuri kustha ashram samiti and chandrashekhar azad kustha ashram. Dr Mudit Chauhan, Dr Jitendra Pandey and Dr Kush Pandey were with students during this visit. GUEST LECTURE ON "Hansen's Disease" Hansen’s disease (also known as leprosy) is an infection caused by slow-growing bacteria called Mycobacterium leprae. Leprosy is surely a challenge for mankind and to understand this disease, a guest lecture was organised for the students of COER Medical College on 28th January 2023, 2 days before World Leprosy Day. Dr Ashwini Chauhan was the eminent speaker. REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONBasant Panchami Pujan evam Hawan in COER HOSPITAL On 26th January, 2023, Basant Panchami Hawan and Poojan was held in COER Medical college of ayurveda and hospital. Respected Director Sir, Principal Mam, Faculties, Consultants, Hospital Staff and all the ayurveda students were present in this event. National Girls Child Day COER Medical college of Ayurveda and Hospital organised an essay competition on NATIONAL GIRLS CHILD DAY i.e. on 24th January 2023. Theme of the competition was “FINANCIAL INDEPENDENT WOMAN IN TODAY’S ERA”. Students of CMCAH, School of nursing and CCNPS participated in this essay competition.
